Single speed track alignment, 3/32 Royce chainring with WI double 17/19 freewheel so whilst I think I’ll move them around a bit doubt I will.

For this strange thing

WI double 17/19 freewheel
You'll want some sort of bushingless chain for that, and you'll want to check the gap between the two sets of teeth to make sure there's proper clearance

Thanks. Will have a measure. What chains do you think these were designed for? Guess I limit things with the drop outs being 120mm ?

What chains do you think these were designed for?
No idea. If they had any sense they would allow for 8mm wide chains, as that covers most things, but they may have had 6.5mm wide 8-speed dérailleur chain in mind.

I’ll get the callipers out. Thanks

I run a 17/19 WI with a 68/73mm MTB crankset with a 30T narrow wide chainring on the middle ring with KMC X8, no issues thus far.

Great input. Thanks. How often do you change it up between the 17/19 ? Going to run a 46t chainring at first as more road commuting / tow path riding

Once or twice a week depending on which court.
That said, the difference is pretty minimal but still noticeable.

Brake levers- I installed the nicer TRP ones ( RRL) but found them to be a different design to their basic model; shorter, with a steeper curve which puts too much pressure on my hands.
They are on a pair of Deda RHMs .
So I'd like something a bit nicer than the basic TRPs, though they do seem to have more of an STI type shape, which is what the RHM bars seem to be designed for.
So, should I have listened to Tester @gbj_tester and got the Srams? Probably yes.
Are the Srams nearer to a Campag shifter in shape than a Shimano? -

should I have listened to Tester
With brake levers, listen to your hands. The SRAM shape suits me, but that's about as helpful as saying a Selle Italia SLR suits my arse.

I will listen to my hands.
The bike was built and fitted by Italians. I think I know what they will tell me -

• #1114
Did you have the adaptor brackets fitted? TRP RRL's come with a plastic adaptors/wedges that make for a better angle with modern flattop bars...

I didn't fit them. I ll see if the wedge is there. I think it might not be.

Cane creek!

have we had headsets yet ?
Yes, from several different angles, 36° and 45° being the most relevant. UTFS and all your questions will be answered

but just to summarise ....
which 1 1/8th would you have put in the first post without blowing the bankkings are pricey, i was recommended a cane creek in another thread, you also appear to recommend cane creek in a post, cane creek 40 series ? hope are a bit more costwise
i didn't see any mention of a specific headset just that bearings were 99% of the headset and TH were the ones to look for, numerous times

cane creek 40 series
That's always a safe bet, and they do all the sizes. The Cane Creek 10 is fine too in a limited range of options, as is pretty much anything containing TH chromium steel angular contact cartridges. You actually have to be trying to fuck up the other parts of a headset.

The 10 uses plastic for the bearing race IIRC, I'm sure you'll prove me wrong!

Compression ring?
-
• #1123
This!
-
• #1124
You can replace it with an aluminium one if it bothers you. The original Chris King threadless headsets didn't have a compression ring at all and you were all fawning over them in 2007 🙂

Not me, was still with either Tange or Shimano in 2007... ;)
Best for what?
Those are two different things. Most 3/32" stuff works with 9-speed chain, but it all works with 8-speed
