Missed out on a Nitto S83 on eBay, so picked up this Shimano 600 post that was tatty but polished up okay wi to some autosol and a dremel. Of course it’s too fucking short.
So, do I fuck around with a cheap post until the 83 is back in stock? Or get one of the new Zipp posts? So I want in-line or setback? Fml

the complete lack of vent holes.
Are there holes in the bb shell into all of the tubes? If so, those are the vent holes :)

Cool, just used to seeing them at both ends on other bikes I’ve owned. Chur

Spoke to Winston Vaz about holes in frames (I was after internal cable routing), he basically said why would you want to put holes in steel tubes that are gonna create a stress point, and let water in, the man made a fair point. I suppose so long as you (one) takes the seatpost out once in awhile and upend the frame, no harm will come to it.

Glad you went with a 65 - I prefer it to the 83 and it's what's currently gracing my Donohue in fact.

Time to fit the chain and go through the intense rigmarole that is setting up the front derailleur. It’s a pain, but really does make it work much so much better.
Anywho, all done bar the tape, and better pics obvs.

Looking really good! Similar colour to my next bike so interesting for me see that black wheels and groupset with silver seatpost / stem actually looks really good with burgundy paint : )
One thing I would advise is that S65 seatposts aren't compatible with carbon-railed saddles:
http://nitto-tokyo.sakura.ne.jp/post-E.htmlI think it's to do with carbon rails needing a wider clamping area to spread the load evenly along them; a narrower clamp like this concentrates the pressure onto a shorter section and increases the risk of failure.

Those cables need to go on the inside of the bars.
