    Manhunter is also great, going to sound all up myself, but remember all the blue/grey light washing across me when I saw it on a big screen, must be best part of 30 years ago but remains an indelible memory

    In my top ten for sure. Despite the long running time, it doesn't leave you much respite or room to breathe. There's always something going on, and even if there isn't, there's a tension between characters that's palpable. It reminds me a bit of Ronin, which is another favourite.

  • Worth adding in Black Hat - not peak Mann but kept me engaged, looks great throughout and at least three great set pieces (none on a par with Heat but if you set the bar more appropriately a couple of top draw shoot outs)
