Elliott is still whinging about EU issues that don't affect the UK or its never given cared about.
While misrepresenting EU freedom of movement which was never just economic but also ties in with basic rights (which need expanded yes, residency rights as a non working spouse are often too hard to acquire, can't transfer vote to another EU country etc) which are also part there so EU citizens meet / marry / get to know each others countries...
Now we have to hope the enemy outside (EU) won't be replaced by enemy inside (left / rejoiners / judges)

I think Powell may have an agenda here! Any talk of strategy from someone deeply involved in the planning of the invasion of Iraq seems questionable.
