  • I also did sit down thinking of watching heat last night but I've decided to wait until I have a new TV to really make it a treat!

  • Heat is fantastic, gets even better with repeated viewing as you know the story and can focus in on the incidental detail, the amazing dialogue etc.

Manhunter is also great, going to sound all up myself, but remember all the blue/grey light washing across me when I saw it on a big screen, must be best part of 30 years ago but remains an indelible memory

  • Manhunter soundtrack is lovely I think, very 80s synth vibe.

Movie is very stylish visually, very well shot and I remember the blue seeing it on the TV.

In my top ten for sure. Despite the long running time, it doesn't leave you much respite or room to breathe. There's always something going on, and even if there isn't, there's a tension between characters that's palpable. It reminds me a bit of Ronin, which is another favourite.

    Also, Ronin

  • all the blue/grey light

Dante Spinotti, so good. The scenes at the beach house still look great, similar to the balcony scene in Heat. If you've not seen it I really rate The Insider, many lighting gems.

Apparently a bit Marmite but Collateral looks ace as well IMO.
