Joking aside. It will be mostly that. Look at how they treat non-EU spouses, it will be similar if not same process. Lots of documents, a solicitor and plenty of visa fees.

ha! the more i read the more expensive it gets...
not sure whether they can enter the UK in January based on the 90-day visa-free stay and then apply for a family visa from there, or the nature of the stay being permanent meaning we’d have to apply for it before she travels, which’d then be an extra £500 and three months wait...
... then reading about the £624 a year immigration healthcare surchargefucking hell, absolutely kicking myself for not sorting this out sooner :/

has anyone seen any concrete info about the process(es) that’ll be involved in bringing EU family members (spouse/child) across to live in the UK from January 1st?
mainly worried it’ll need spousal visas and £1000 a pop - paying the price for our indecision :/
gov.uk is all a bit vague - though suppose that’s not particularly suprising...
