  • Yes, I think he made a good choice. Quite understated compared to some of the massive 'wrist clocks'!

  • How’s everyone doing? I hope you guys are (not) drinking too much.

  • Back at the desk. Didn't impulse buy anything watch-like in the sales.

  • Good on you. I might have bought a couple... was actually hoping for one to come today but no sign of it yet.

  • Congratulations, your son made a good choice, I hope he doesn’t become afflicted by the watch bug.

@PawG Haven’t bought anything too serious this year. I’m toying with a massive consolidation down to three or four keepers and buying one more biggie. It’s the rigmarole of selling that puts me off.

  • Hah! I was seriously tempted by the FOiS but alas, sold out.

  • I picked up a cheap watch winder from Amazon and it appears to be doing what is expected, which should result in me wearing more of my watches more often.

  • I’m not sure if anyone actually got it. Many people say the orders are being cancelled due to the watches being out of stock, so basically EJ was selling what they didn’t have on hand/access to. Apparently, they do it every year too - sucks really. That FOIS would be a bargain at £3k.

  • For me, few quality watches is the way to go. I would love to be a one watch guy and tried it but it just doesn’t work for me.

  • Aching...

  • @Dammit thoughts on the railmaster? Boring or bargain? Choosing something from omega but i dont know what yet. Speedmaster obvious choice, or aqua terra / railmaster. In blue

  • @panic - My eldest has an Omega Constellation which I think is an incredibly classy and understated model.

Cash on collection in Romford, reckon it'll go cheap(er) than some of the others

I'm keeping an eye on it, but probably not bidding.

  • Talked to them yesterday. The have 3 left qt inverness store. They told me i can request it from any store and they will sent it. Living abroad though thats impossible. At 3k its the cheapest one around, even used. And the gbt to eur now is very good (for me)

  • Wearing the ol'mega today. I still think i prefer it over the BB36 actually.

  • I wonder how many people actually got it at £3k.

  • Actually did come today. New daily watch to replace Seiko 5. Lovely winding action with that big crown.

  • Yes they are. Sorry I didn’t reply to your PM, I forgot.

How are you finding the reflection?

  • The reflection is definitely there, but so far I can't see it affecting the legibility enough to annoy me. Time will tell :-)

  • Still wearing my Navigator lots; only downside is, as I've not had a hand-wind before, if I forget to take it off overnight I forget to wind it in the morning, and have had it wind down once or twice.

  • What’s the power reserve on those?

  • Supposed to be 42 hours I think? Because I'm inconsistent with the winding I've not been able to work out exactly what it really is, but that seems ballpark right; it's only been a problem if I wind in the morning and miss a day.
