Ah ok, I think user error might be more likely to accidentally cause a negative result, rather than a positive. But it sounds like getting another test might be a good idea.
You are doing the right thing by trying to prevent your gf infecting others, but I can totally appreciate the difficulties of essentially asking someone to put themselves under house arrest, and from what you've said it sounds especially challenging with the Parkinsons. If she has a test and it comes back positive then at least you will have a more solid reasoning. Tough thing to go through over christmas/NYE too.
