Am I right in thinking it was all filmed on a smart phone? Or am I thinking of something else?
Edit: just googled and I was right "The film was shot with three iPhone 5S smartphones"
I've added it to my Letterboxd watchlist, the premise sounds interesting! Does the way it's shot actually work or is it a bit gimmicky? -

It's super saturated. Stylised, but didn't detract. Kinda more added to the mad LA vibe. Really enjoyed it overall

Sounds good! Will have to check it out.

My mate has been shooting exclusively with iPhones for years now, it's a thing... Here's one he did a couple of years ago, BTW he's an experimental film maker...

Having watched Skyfall and Spectre, I’m almost angry at how shit they are.
Joyless and completely uninteresting.

I saw the reviews were fairly stale. Do people rate them?
I remember thinking Casino Royale was alright at the time.

Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, both great fun

I only watched Skyfall for the Cinematography. Big fan of Deakins' work. Aside from that, I remember nothing of the plot.

I was more referring to the Daniel Craig bond outings tbh.

They definitely look pretty amazing. Maybe that’s part of the reason they wound me up so much. Strong in many aspects, but ultimately a bit flat.

Moonraker. everything else is rubbish, moreso with anything not featuring roger moore.

I quite liked sky fall, I mean I didnt think it was amazing but enjoyable. Spectre i thought had a few nice shots but overall shit as you say.

See, thing is remember fuck all about the premise, nothing of the action or conversation. Nothing surprised or confused. Nothing really engaged my mind either.
I do remember Bardem though, as he stuck in my mind till about half way when he sorta just became cliche evil.Honestly, I'd rather watch Fast and Furious series for mindless explogasms.

I’d be inclined to agree skyfall was deffo better than spectre. And perhaps watching both on close proximity has melded them into one big bond shit sandwich.
@Chak I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, brainless, but not brainless enough to be enjoyable in that way.
We’ve opted for There Will Be Blood as a palette cleanser.

There Will Be Blood
Still my favourite film of this century, I think

There Will Be Blood - Fantastic! .

Having just watched Spectre, any recommendations for recent action/drama (not horror) that aren't completely devoid of intelligence, character development and suspense? I suppose A Quiet Place was the last thing I watched that kind of fit the bill.
Edit: this wasn't really supposed to be a reply.

Pulp Fiction followed by From Dusk Till Dawn. Can't seem to locate my copy of Jackie Brown, which is unfortunate, so Seth n Richie will have to do.

Not recent, but rewatching Heat was probably my cinematic highlight of 2020. So that.

Interestingly it was a Guardian article of the top 100 films of the 21st C (with it at no 1) that pointed us there.
God I love this film.
Love that film...I heard it was pitched all round Hollywood and nobody wanted it.
It’s better for it.
