cross-posting from which groupset thread
what is the cheapest way to get an electronic hydro disc groupset at the moment? i am aiming to build up a winter bike but it must be electronic shifting + hydro disc. fine with mid-range calipers and crankset etc.. it would likely be for a kinesis 4S disc roadset. it could be 1x11/12 if that makes it cheaper/easier to get hold of. aware that everywhere seems out of stock of everything atm

Taiwan / China via eBay - search for the ads that look too good to be true (BNIB XT Di2 rear mechs for sub £150 / Latest Ultegra Di2 Hydro Shifters & Calipers for £250) and take a leap of faith - they’re actually ridiculously cheep and arrive within a few weeks (last ordered about 3 months ago)
I’ll try and dig out some examples of items and sellers.Oh, and, don’t go R785, plz

interesting thank you. yeah i had r785 levers before - they sucked a bit

Hummnn
Seems like unfortunately due to the general bullshit of super-short supply and over demand that is plaguing the bike industry at the moment, there’s no good deals about currently and the sellers I have historically used have nothing even listed for sale.
Personally, I’d wait till this stupid fucking bike bubble bursts and there’s a huge oversupply of everything.
In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for badly listed eBay ads etc

thought that might be the case.. thanks anyway. will keep looking

Nearly done with the clear out... I have both Sram/Shimano bleed kit(sorry for slow reply- Forum alerts off and short memory).

Really? I've got 785s on two bikes and 8070s on two bikes, and while the 785s are a bit large and chonkeh, I've never had any issues with them functionally. And they were cheeeeeep.

first pair i got (brand new) had a leak (common on the first few models apparently; same experience for a guy in my cycling club). they are also really chunky compared to newer iterations

Most importantly, they look shit.

Whereabouts? In Putney?
-
• #7018
The very same. What are you going to try and sell me?
-
• #7019
Nothing. Just intrigued.
Might ask to borrow your jig in the distant future to rebuild the Geekhouse.
I need to rebuild my workshop, it’s a fucking mess. -
• #7020
Oh cool. You have a workshop?
I’m thinking about making a new jig at the moment actually. Getting some parts machined for it -

Sort of- it’s in perennial progress as I have free time then work destroys progress. By the end of the year I should have a proper space organised.

Sweet. Are you renting a spot or is it in that garage I met you at before?

Hey all - I'm planning to fit some drop-bar hydros (post mount) to a sscx. Done a lot of scrolling thru this and elsewhere and think my options are:
SRAM Rival 1x levers - but bleeding is a nightmare
TRP Hylex - seem to be hard to get hold of
Anything I'm missing?Edit (in case someone is asking the same Q): I've bought some Shimano ST-785 Di2 levers which are cheaper than the Hylex ones and compatible with any Shimano calipers.

Same place.

Looks like Upgrade Bikes are out of stock and waiting on a back order. They are the UK importer so any LBS with an account with them can order them in for you, once Upgrade have stock.
I'm not an authority on the matter but it's my belief that yes, yes they are.
