My local big Tesco had some half price sets in the other day, but I didn't get a chance to investigate.

Ordering stuff from Ikea recently (Tertial anglepoise rip-off mainly) and spotted the BYGGLEK boxes so got a few for MiniGB:-

Porsche 911 RSR

Oh, very nice! Was showing Mrs Hammer this yesterday (and the price 😱).

Interesting that the structural unit is consistent across totally different models. In the RSR it’s used to build the chassis ladder frame.

I've only this week become aware that there's a "new" and "old" technic with corresponding pros and cons.

A mate built up the big ECTO-1 yesterday, which looks amazing. Took him 9 hours though.

I got it at 330, but while it was on my wishlist it had dipped below 300 at times. It's decent value if you want two Technic hubs and the motors, which come to £360 alone on Lego.com

I think of it more as "original" and "extended". They work together, and the most modern sets still contain OG elements.
