I found windows around 1k a piece, bays made up of 3 windows but the small ones being less and the main one being a bit more.

Lovely.

That looks great!

Screen for sure. Not thought about it yet though. Will try and find something that fits the vibe nicely.

Also started fitting the kitchen today. Nice job if you’re methodical and happy to offer stuff up for measuring 10+ times before cutting.

That gap between base units is 932 mm wide. It needs to take 2x and panels at 18mm and a range that is 895mm. Too close for comfort I think.

Which one did Churchill have?
Looks excellent though, I am in awe of how you just learnt it all and did it .. TOP MAN-ing!

Why wouldn't you tile the floor under the bath?
-
• #40664
Is this the one from DIY kitchens?
-
• #40665
Because the bath is being boxed in so there isn't any need to tile there.

Don't tell him about behind kitchen units.

I love the green of those tiles - stunning !!
-
• #40668
I doubt there is a wall behind my kitchen units, let alone tiles, given the drafts we get
-
• #40669
I guess you could if you wanted but a waste of money. You’ll never see it once boxed in.

Yep

Extra bit of kitchen is looking somewhat better. Can't say I particularly enjoyed doing it though. Crooked walls and floors made it a real ballache. Happy with the result though.

anyone familiar with help to buy?
we are two years into our 5 year interest free loan, and im keen to get on top of things sooner than later to avoid paying more than needed.
Is it a feasible tactic to attempt to lower the value of the house in order to owe less? (as its done by % of property value rather than a set ££)

I would disagree the raw materials are cheap in my experience it is the time/labour getting the stuff on/making sure it doesn't dry out too quickly etc more of a faff than cement
