Alien isolation free on epic game store right now. Going to be a free game everyday up to Christmas.

Always meant to get Alien Isolation, would be an excellent introduction in how to deal with the support bubble in-laws this Xmas...

I started playing Alien Isolation but it was too scary for me so had to put it down. Lost in Terraria now.

Started on Far Cry 5 this week and really enjoying it so far. Pulls off a pretty creepy uneasy vibe well that has me checking my back constantly. Might be one that gets annoying after time with people constantly recognising and opening fire on me when I just want to drive to the next mission start, but so far it’s not too bad in that respect

I really enjoyed in FC5 that the 'alertness' (forgot what it's called) level increases as you do more missions in an area, which means things don't just immediately tail off in challenge as you get better weapons/perks.

Used companions a lot more on my second playthrough though, they can be pretty overpowered if you want them to be.

Yeah I’ve picked up a generic soldier companion for now and found that she can pick off a lot of the enemies with ease when it gets to close combat. Also useful when driving about having the extra gun in the car and for her reviving me if I’m downed.

singed up for EA Play on the PS4, unfortunately the games need downloaded, no streaming them like on PS Now.
Installed Jedi Fallen Order last night and will put a session in tonight.
Played start up part, and just started waving a lightsaber around.
So far worth the £20* for a year, reckon I will give NHL and FIFA a go, and the "new" NFS is on there too
XBone line up is much better, with previous gen content and almost wish I had one

Out of interest do you have access to the latest EA Sports titles on EA Play or is it currently just the previous years releases? On Game Pass which includes EA Play it has a 10 hour (i think) trial option for the newest Sports games but then you have to buy it at full price from the game store. Checked online and people say they do that and it won’t be out on Game Pass for a few months when sales dry up a bit but wasn’t sure if it was a Game Pass thing only or if they also hold out on releasing them in full on EA Play too. I’m not fussed about playing them straight away so happy to wait but just wondered if that was the case?

20 is on there (for FIFA, NHL and Madden)

I've never played a current release EA sports game since the PS1 days, so am not worried about it being the newest of new.
I guess for £20 it would be a bit of a mistake to throw in the £50 newly released game

Yeah 21 is the newest just out recently. I’ve not played them for a long time either so was just happy to get all of the different sports for ‘free’ and I don’t go on the Ultimate Team or online stuff so will lose nothing by not getting on it straight away. Definitely understand why they’d not include them as I imagine they bring in a lot of money for them. Had just wondered if it was an EA Play thing or a game pass thing to not have them available.

Is it possible to find RX 5600 or 5700s anywhere (or equivalent)? I was thinking about pulling the trigger on new mobo/cpu/ram/ssd, but there's no point if I can't get a decent gpu.

Yeah I've been enjoying it. Wasn't mad on it for the first hour or two but growing into it. Combat is good too.

Has anyone here used Yuzu? It's a switch emulator. I really want to play BOTW since I started it on my brother's switch but buying a switch for one game seems a bit excessive.

Did exactly this for BotW, have no regrets. Also free Rocket League on Switch, so that's nice!

Finished off the main story last night but plenty left to do, it's fun, weird and some of the boss fights are really hard.

I'm saving control for when I get a piss5 - heard the performance is ropey on piss4

I had a few crashes after things got busy, including a new "memory break" message on an OG XBone, loading wasn't quick but I've seen worse, always struggled after pausing but playable ok for the most part. Wanted to get it done whilst on gamepass, sometimes the bigger games don't stay on for that long.
