Totally changed my mind on Jack Brown Mile Munchers, 30mm flavour after a couple of punctures from fairly innocuous-looking thorns, the second one I can't even remove. Thankfully have a spare set of Rubino Pros I can bung on.
Anyway. Is there anything better than Pro 4 Endurance for winter road miles (28 to 32mm)?

For using with inner tubes, the Pro4 Endurace are the best tyre i've ever used for winter and putting in lots of commuter miles. Think I got 10k miles from one and even used them for a few races. Hard to better them.
ymmv etc. -

I'd echo this sentiment. They last forever, roll fairly well and have excellent puncture protection. Would definitely recommend.

Continental, yes but which continent?
I recently bought a pair of Continental tyres - a German brand we are all familiar with, and these came with plenty of German on the packaging, but in small print were the words 'made in China'.
It seems that all Continental tyre production has moved to China. I don't feel happy about this because:
I feel that Continental is falsely trying to claim the prestige of a German made product, and even if the Chinese made product is satisfactory from a quality point of view there seems to me to be an element of dishonesty here.
A further point is that the movement of production of any manufactured item seems to be part of a false claim by European countries to be cleaning up their industries. But what's happening is that they are just exporting their pollution to the far east, which is more like the wild west so far as environmental control is concerned.
But the most serious objection is that the Chinese state is involved in racial persecution and possibly genocide of the Uighers, and if that wasn't enough, the use of slave labour - see this article:
If the Nazi regime had survived long enough to sell us cars, would you have been happy to buy a 'Strength through Joy car' (KdF Wagen) , that is, a Beetle?

Continental have produced mid-to-low end bicycle tyres in India and China for many years now. The high end tyres with their Black Chilli compound are all still produced at their Korbach facility in Germany. But yeah, agreed their marketing is a bit misleading

Interesting. I've done about 3000km on my set with no problems (so far).

Anyone spotted any decent deals on cyclocross tyres? Might get some Smart Sams in 35mm.

Continental 4-Season shouldn't be too hard to find in a 28, comes up big and is still the reference winter tyre.

Just fitted a Pirelli cinturato 32 on hope 25 and it measures 31.

28 is the widest they do, should be available at Decathlon (I think the picture of them being grey is incorrect)

Ha!
Has anyone used Tubilito?
I’ve had a string of punctures one a ride for the last few weeks. So I’m getting desperate. -

As an emergency tube, yeah, twice now (thanks to Hutchinson)
As a regular use inner-tube, no, but people do it (but the valve is orange. good/bad?) If you're going to patch it you'll need to get special Tubolito patches though -

Not cross specific, but might deal well with mud:

these are pretty well regarded tyres, I think, though I've never tried them - one thing to keep in mind is that the 700c version are not sold as tubeless ready. though I think most people do run them tubeless
