  • Shimano R8070. My first time bleeding anything but the process was very simple and straight forward. Much nicer than the recommended shimano method involving a plastic bag to attach to a hose at the caliper to collect fluid!
It was just funnel in the top, syringe at the caliper, push fluid up the hose from the caliper end until the bubbles stop then hold in the lever and create a vacuum with the syringe to suck out the bubbles from the bottom end. Worked a treat and I copied the method over to the ultegra caliper at the back and it worked fine for that too but the lack of a thread in bleed port made it a bit messier.

  • excellent, is the syringe proprietary ? i.e. did you have to buy any Hope bleeding thing?

  • It came with anything you'd need for the caliper end. "bleed blocks" AKA dummy pads, syringe and short hose. As well as bolts and 2 sets of pads.
Unsure whether that's usually the case, this came direct from Hope
Then I went with the Epic kit for Shimano for the fluid, funnel and syringe for the rear
