  • If I buy (with a discount) from rapha.cc, can I exchange in store for something totally different?

  • Yes, to the same value

  • So, my long sleeve pro-team RGB jersey has arrived today. It says suitable for 'cold' weather on the website.
My question what is the temperature range for 'cold'? it is thinner than a thin thing and appears to have insulating qualities at all.
Whilst it looks great I am having trouble seeing when I might wear it. It's no good having something that looks fab when its hidden under a gilet or jacket to keep warm.

  • Dont get the Rapha one. NOT breathable.

  • Infact I will be selling mine shortly.

  • If it looks great and fits well but doesn't work in the cold don't wear it in the cold. I love a LS jersey and relish the chance to wear one - maybe it's good you have something for warm spring days or cool summer afternoons.

  • Luckily I went for the Gore version. Fit is perfect and looks very well made.

I am now ready for some filthy winter miles

  • Good to know

  • Dont get the Rapha one. NOT breathable.

This is the exact opposite of my findings fwiw

  • It’s a proprietary fabric...?

  • Depends which one? I’ve got the pro team rain jacket and think it’s easily the best rain jacket I’ve ever owned.

  • Yeah Castelli, Rapha and 7 Mesh are licenced by Gore to use the same Shakedry material so the breathability should be the same across all of them.

  • Anyone here have the sweat cap? Do you find you still need a towel when on a turbo?

  • I was talking shake dry. Have you tried one of those?

  • Exactly. So the above is nonsense.

  • .

  • .

  • I ahve shadow. Its crap. We're not talking about same thing.

    Cannot comment on shakedry.

  • Anyone here have the sweat cap? Do you find you still need a towel when on a turbo?

Yes. It's okay. Still need a towel, but it helps greatly with sweat pouring into my eyes. It's get a lot of it but not all.

  • Strange. I absolutely love my Shadow kit. So versatile, and totally saved my arse in the snow on Stelvio on the Transalp when all Ze Germans in summer kit were being treated for hypothermia and I was feeling lovely and toasty. Apart from my feet.

  • Parcel turned up and polybag was torn. Looks like an accident and definitely not done by a human. Base layer, jersey and bibs were ordered. Bibs missing. Called Rapha. Had a replacement pair on order within 5 minutes of dialing the CS number. Sweet.

  • Original poster was asking about the shake dry though, not the shadow

  • I understand you might only have a certain combo of layers but I'm going to repeat something I've said here before (but I do agree it's quite thin for cold weather)... start at the base(layer). I've been riding in the RGB jersey in dry winter weather by layering with a proper LS merino baselayer and the deep winter version, combining with an insulated gilet. However, and I've said this before, I tend to run a bit hot.

  • I returned it today. I understand what you are saying, I run cold and didn’t want it to end up as an expensive base layer for something else. Fully understand this is a very personal viewpoint.
