metering is overrated ;)
what film are you planning to shoot? Gold, pro image, portra 400 all can. be easily shot 3 stops over and still look. perfectly fine. Same with Hp5.
if I am in doubt I just use an app to get the darkest spot metered only once and I look at that as barer minimum and shoot everything at or above that.

Only for the metering tbh. I'm trying to not to get swept up into the whole Leica lifestyle thing.
