I have one that I got about 12 years ago from eBay, but it looks the same.
I used it for storing a tandem and it was fine. Also doubled up as a workstand before I got a proper workstand. Not using mine now, but they are a great way of storing something you wouldn't otherwise have room for.
I never had issues with mine popping off. I felt happier hooking onto a rack, where bikes had it, than to saddle rails. However it was always ok either way. The hooks are adjustable, you can spread them out or make them narrower depending on what you are fitting to. Maybe the devil is in the detail with these things?
