Oh nice, added them to my "to follow" list. Thanks again.

Totally. Its interesting that some people care about this and some dont, I'm in the later camp prob due to being on the extrovert side of things. My last place (flat) was totally on show, with 10 foot high windows facing a pretty busy road, we prob looked like some sort of am dram production when having folks over for food and noticed people taking photos from outside on quite a few occasions.
I want a lot of glass if I ever get mine done.
On a Dif note, just received a shipment of chippy sauce, which you may or may not appreciate. -

I already feel on display with the glazing in my extension. we've got a lane that runs between the houses at the back and it's amazing how many people will be walking along and just stop at our back wall to gawp inside. even if I'm staring back (!) at them.
chippy sauce? as in, that edinburgh muck? I'm west coast, mate ;)

Ha, yeah, I used to just wave!
Yeah, chippy sauce! Thought you were Edinburgh, maybe its Glasgow? The stuff is like heaven and I'm prob going to slowly drink thew whole litre bottle. -

Really like Fromworks - that Blackheath house is a particularly nice example

Had architect and structural engineer round today - there's some rather funny/quirky bits in our house which were causing them some animated discussion but they seem to be agreed on what they're doing.
We're also decided to re-do the inglenook fireplace with a mix of concrete, glass and brick

Just scoping out the possibilities... 5 year plan and all that.
You’ll be the first to know, don’t you worry.

Our architect is a twat.
Just charged us £1000 to go to planning and all he did was to tweak some plans from an earlier stage in the process and fill out a tick box form and we have to pay the £230 application fee..
He must be on £500 an hour.
Can builders quote off planning drawings or do we have to (I’m not going to) pay said architect to do technical drawings? -
• #3412
Take them to Resi and ask if they will do the technical drawings.
If this guy is charging £500 an hour that gonna save you a lot of money

What / who is Resi? Cheers

Peeps getting wise and realising architects ain't all that.
DnB is on the up.
I'd like a big loft conversion with fancy dormer but I can't get past the niggling feeling you'd be on display a bit... especially if you had lots of glass
