• It will be the lateral flow test at a university. You know, the Innova one that both the manufacturer and the WHO say shouldn't be used to see if people have the virus and only caught half the cases in Liverpool...

    I say this as someone who also works for a University and had two of these tests booked for this coming Friday and Monday 14th.

    I've now cancelled them seeing as I've had a PCR test today.

  • Is the idea that in a situation where keeping students at Uni was not appropriate/possible (politically, socially etc) catching 50% of positives does help, and by doing this early possibly prevents a week or two of transmission which would increase cases several fold prior to returns home?

  • Son-1 has had 2 of these 10 days apart so reasonably hopeful that he is clear. Unless he catches it on the train home.
    Daughter-1 has fewer than half her classmates in currently and the neighbouring school has just closed for physical lessons due to an outbreak.
    Not sure we're quite in the clear yet.
