Based on the south coast, but the last couple (in the prior month... one my son, the other my niece (negative, typically, the kids had colds)) were emailed back in less than 24h.

"People were defecating in doorways because there's no toilets open."
No Deal is going to be fine.

Shitting in doorways because of no toilets seems like a pretty literal comparison with no deal.

Thanks all for the replies on Covid-test timescales. Didn't think I'd have to have one but just did so hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

Had a test this afternoon as part of the government's 'get students home safely' mass testing regime (I work for a university so I qualify, not that anyone checked my credentials). 30 mins from test to text. Negative result. Not 100% sure that I didn't fuck the test up, but I'll take it anyway.

6 drops into vial, 10 turns in each nostril, squeeze and splosh, 2 drops onto Innova?
Or another version?
(am doing the above 2 x per week- it is really unpleasant). -

You sure they haven't just given you amyl nitrite.

None of that. 3 swabs of each tonsil and then five times up the nose. Plonked it into a little tube and the guy behind the screen whisked it away.

It will be the lateral flow test at a university. You know, the Innova one that both the manufacturer and the WHO say shouldn't be used to see if people have the virus and only caught half the cases in Liverpool...
I say this as someone who also works for a University and had two of these tests booked for this coming Friday and Monday 14th.
I've now cancelled them seeing as I've had a PCR test today.

We are Luxembourg still doing the mass testing. Had another last week, results in 6 hours. They’re also releasing this sort of data on COVID in waste water:
https://eau.public.lu/actualites/2020/12---Decembre/CORONASTEP-Report-30/index.html
Could be, but I think it's also likely that Johnson and co. got early information about this, and it just wouldn't be a good look for a 'prime minister' if his current adviser was found guilty of an offence when said 'prime minister' exonerated him by claiming to have seen 'evidence' that might be found in an investigation either not to have existed or not to be credible. Best to put some daylight between the 'prime minister' and the adviser for when the shit hits the fan. He can then be reinstated when the need arises for dirty tricks in the next election campaign.
Kicking Cummings out long before news of the renewed investigation is reported means few in public would be willing or able to connect the two things, and allows me to weave conspiracy theories, so everyone wins.
