bought my youngest daughter Darth Vader costume when she was six years old. She suffering with chronic asthma, that vbutton on the front panel was the funniest part with its heavy breathing. Wore that costume solidly for a year and only answered to the name of Skye Walker.
RIP David Prowse

that reminds me of a great evening we had at Coed-y-Brenin many years ago.
we were drinking and chatting shit and telling stories and my mate Dave came up with the immortal line "I snogged Darth Vader's daughter".
We were falling about crying with laughter trying to piece together those words that sounded like English but didn't really make sense.
turns out my mate Dave lived near big Dave P as a teenager and met his daughter at a local party and well, snogged her...

RIP Peter Alliss - really the ‘voice of golf’. I will miss his gentle commentary.
Peter Alliss: Legendary BBC golf commentator dies at 89 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/55204070

His commentary sits brilliantly alongside some of the greatest moments in golf. As one of those who stopped playing golf to cycle his was a regular voice which took me through year. Now it’s Carlton Kirby.
Possibly the last of the greatest generation with Bill McLaren and Brian Johnston. -

Have a long hard think about what you have said....

Irony and disappointment doesn’t come across well when written down.

Aha. Good.

It reads a little bit as though you hold CK as the last of the greatest generation...
-
• #8292
Alliss also appears on the list of those who turned down queeny's trinkets..
-
• #8293
Alliss was a fucking terrible commentator and a guy you never heard a good word about. Well, apart from that ^.

Paolo Rossi, what a colourful career he had... I still remember Italy's '82 World Cup group games so well, played in my home region of Galicia, unfortunately the games were played a couple of months too early for me to go see them on our annual summer hols... The Riazor stadium made him a star on the world stage... RIP...
