  • How is it? On paper, dimensions sound big

  • @goodhead - Love that Longines

  • Haters gonna hate.

@ejay2.0 are these mecaquartz reparable? I believe the electronic part needs replacing - it works fine for days/weeks then suddenly loses loads of time. Some while back research suggested it needed replacement electronics.

  • This is impressively big!

  • It's big but doesn't look out of place on the wrist. The lugs are nicely tapered and it wears nicely - very comfortable. It's very well finished considering the price!

  • Looks bigger in photos than real life.

    Wahey, #lads etc etc

  • It was a present from my girlfriend at the time. I remember explicitly saying how much i hated Rolex and Tag. What a plum I was.

  • That is a stunner. I’d be hanging on to that too if I was you.

  • Thought this was discontinued??

  • 39mm was discontinued. The 36 got an update, new calibre and new dials.

  • Send it to Breitling direct , will be quicker and probably no more expensive than using the dealer network.
I reckon they should be able to source bits for it , even though its probs close to 30 years old .
    Will take forever tho.......

  • Forever and a day...

    Thanks for the reply.

  • Breitling story: I sent my Aerospace to Breitling to fix the hands which weren't working. Breitling quoted £475 for a full service, so I asked them to send it back. In between handing it in and getting it back the hands started working again.....

Anyway the point of the story was that Breitling quoted 4-6 weeks for the service, which I thought was pretty quick. Matt at the boutique in Regents Street was very helpful as were the staff at the service centre. Overall I was impressed by the service.

Breitling would definitely have cleaned and/or replaced everything and it would have come back looking brand new. I actually prefer the used/worn look, although I expect I would have achieved that again in no time.......

  • Gave in to the lure of the Planet Ocean

  • was booking my fiancee's ring in for a resize at Preston's in Guildford and tried on a bb58 blue on bracelet (as they had one in the window). when i saw it I thought I'd buy it, but overall I felt somewhat underwhelmed by it... oddly, it felt slightly too small on my wrist just and lacked a bit of the wow factor

  • Absolute cracker

  • Nice. Looks really good!

  • Looks superb. Great choice.

  • Big wrists big

  • Wow your luck is much greater than mine! Not sure I could try the same ruse.

But yea was mum’s watch, bought new but I believe in a boutique in the Canaries. She gave it to me a couple years ago, and I like the size. It is way too fancy-show-off shiny for my tastes, but it has grown on me a lot. The size is ideal.

She stopped wearing it ages ago when she was told “probably more than its value” for the repair. Even my trusted watchmaker sucked through his teeth before an anecdote of the identical issue and repair that was not worth the gamble. He was very much pushing me away from making it his problem, partly because of the parts costs.

  • my wrists aren't SO big though :( but i do agree; likely the issue

  • Have you got a wrist shot?
21cm wrist here and I think they are just about perfect size.

  • @ummar01 @IanF

    Couple of beauties, congrats.

  • Good one - enjoy!
