I drove across a large part of the South Downs National Park yesterday afternoon through an absolutely torrential thunderstorm. You got lucky.

well after 5 days of the met office telling me it was torrential rain and thunder in the next 2 hrs every time i looked at their website, finally got a bit of rain last night, 10 mins of heavy rain
the area round maidenhead had a monster lightning storm last night, watched it's progress on the thundermaps website, as it was due over london .... according to the met office, another lie
nice cool breeze through the house today though,
met office still predicting rain ... fuck 'em going shopping and leaving the roof windows open with confidence

Finally cool and grey today. From looking at the weather forecast for next couple of weeks - that was it for the summer, right? Gently dropping down to highs of 20 by the end of the month.

Everyone:
Has anyone got a recommendation for a uk weather app, (for iphone)? Used to have Met Office one, seems to have disappeared. -
• #8666
Dark Sky is the one.
Owned by Apple now so I guess they'll consolidate it into their stock weather app but available separately for now...

I wrote a weather app for Arduino using the Dark Sky API but Apple withdrew the free API literally days after I finished it. Cunts!

A day for building socially distanced snowmen.
Am camping and riding in the South Downs National Park this week, and it’s been scorchio. Today was supposed to be thunder and showers on and off, but not a sniff of them. It’s been more overcast and a lot cooler but absolutely perfect for riding off-road, Tuesday and Wednesday were just too hot to do more than 20 miles. Tonight it’ll just be cool enough for a fire, yay
