To me she just seems drunk, not mentally unwell. I love how the guy she is attacking is actually a fellow Republican, she seems to suggest they are are in on the scam too, i.e. "..... do something crazy to [the poll book]" (at 1min 24 sec)

Never heard it before either but don’t think it’s meant to be an insult itself. Is it that she’s using a name she thinks is common in the ethnic group she’s attacking, which is something that racists do?

I misheard it--she actually says 'child'. I'm sure you could use the mishearing as a racist slur, but of now it doesn't seem to be established as one (although part of one of the worst insults in Chinese languages). I just didn't pick it up because it's such a bizarre (and obviously racist in another way) thing to say.

Unless she's inferring that Chinese children look like adults, which is even more bizarre.

You missed the point, or maybe we’re all talking about slightly different things. I understood her saying Chau (although she may have said child), and didn’t doubt she meant it in an insulting way, but that doesn’t make ‘Chau’ an insult. I’d never heard it used an insult, for all I knew it might be an established slur, or she might be using it like I described above. My point was that the word itself isn’t strictly an insult as far as I can tell. That make sense?

Just catching up with the last couple of pages - does not disappoint, but also does, looking at the Twitter links - crazy stuff, that republican voter fraud poster girl is crackers, it's mesmerising to watch.

Defo think the "Chong" reference is at best a lazy racial stereotype, at worst it's blatant racism pandering to the lowest common denominator in the republican support base, like calling Irish folk "micks" , the French "frogs" etc. I did like how she first justified it by saying she was Indian & some people say all Indian people look alike though, that was a masterstroke... she can get right to fuck

India is famous for everyone looking alike and certainly never had a whole system based around that not being the case.

Yeah, a girl I worked with has Indian parents & her cousins apparently used to take the piss because her skin was darker than theirs, saying she was an untouchable & would never get a nice man - they were joking of course, but if their parents hadn't all emigrated then it might be less funny

Average daily deaths feom heart disease are 1800. Recent daily covid deaths have been over 2.5k.

I spent about 20 years calling my Pakistani friend's little brother khalia as that was what they all called him and I assumed it was just some Urdu pet name. Got informed that it is a derogatory name for black people, basically 'blackie' as he has the darkest skin tone in the family. Quite the eye opener
