  • Yes. What I was saying is that I’d rather have cables to sort out than the separate box from Samsung.

For the money, Samsung TVs aren’t a patch on the LG OLEDs and I regretted buying it.

  • I'm looking at getting the 32" Samsung Frame at the moment. Trying to find out how big these one connect boxes are (in particular the mini that comes with the 32") is murder

  • As this thread has all got a bit TV chat I have a question about HDMI 2.1 that people may be able to help with. From what I understand 2.1 allows 4K 120fps and 8k 60fps. But is that all it’s needed for? Is 2.0 enough for the Ray Tracing, dynamic graphics stuff provided the TV has 4K HDR?

What??? 2.1? Not 2?? Fuck.... I need a new TV now. I was quite happy til you said this.

  • Yeah, you'll need 2.1 for VRR and above 60fps at 4k but everything else will work fine on 2.0. Resolution scaling is done in-game.

  • VRR is definitely a better feature of HDMI 2.1 than 4k120.

  • I have no idea I'm afraid.

Just bear in mind that the frames under 50inch apparently have different panels than those over.

This was basically my deciding factor to go for the larger one.

  • I'm still sorely tempted by the LG's. But having spent most of last night planning the layout of my living room I'm really not keen on the TV taking centre piece of the room. Hopefully the Frame would aleviate some of that...

No local dimming, poor HDR peak brightness, average colour reproduction, poor viewing angles and a 60Hz panel below 55”.

For the money, the LG is so much better.

  • I've been using an LG 49" TV as a monitor for over 18 months now. I checked all the specs before buying and it works a treat both for day to day computing and for PC (Ubuntu & Windows) gaming. It's the UK6300PLB. The main things I looked at were chroma 4.4.4 and HDMI 2.0. I also have PS3 and Xbox 360 hooked up to it so it's easy to switch over when the mood takes me. About 300 quid new (reduced) from Currys when I got it.

  • HDMI 2.1

Driving me nuts. I cant find anywhere where it tells me if my tv is HDMI2 or 2.1

Heyll happily tell me its hdmi x3 though...

I suspect its only HDMI2 but any way to confirm?

  • What model?

Very unlikely it has HDMI 2.1 unless bought in the last 9 months ish and was medium £ or up.

  • last 9 months

No... Few years old now. Feck

And here's to future proofing... Stupid tech

  • Does this go here, shit fixie skidders say, epic wtf? Who knows.

  • less than 5 seconds in and see a wheel nut spinning in time with the hub...

  • I'm really getting in to Demon's Souls. The only other 'souls' game I played was Dark Souls on PC but the port and controls were terrible making it near impossible to play, but this PS5 remake is so smooth, no stutters or frame drops or anything.

  • Not gonna lie, was tempted to make something along the same topic but with more of a Crazy Taxi style handling system. That looks clunky as hell, and I'm sure seeing that canned animation going over the bonnet is going to get old real quick.

    Assuming anyone actually buys it.

  • And a missing spoke on the replacement wheel.

  • It's great isn't it, The sound design is particularly good.

  • I am genuinely planning to mount my track bike on my turbo and ride against traffic in GTA V using the GTBikeV mod.

  • It’s a dream to play such a buttery smooth souls game. The environment designs in dark souls 3 are something else though so I recommend you give that a go or bloodbourne on the PS Plus pass at 60fps.

  • I thought Bloodborne was still capped at 30fps? Also I hate bloodborne.

  • is it still hard and ragequitty af?

not sure i can be arsed.

  • Yeah except in Bloodborne you're given a choice 2 weapons and told to be on your way, in Demon's Souls there's more variety and you can actually chose your style of play. It doesn't take long before you're walking through the first area killing everything in 2 hits. There's a bit of rock-paper-scissors about it, use the right type of weapon and it becomes much easier.
