  • People of Tandem, I'd like your help.

    Out riding in Essex today I got it into my head that the way to get my wife out at the same speed as me and my usual riding friends is, of course, a tandem. This popped up, think it's actually the right size too.

    Are rim breaks like this alright? Seems most tandems have cantis or something. With a new back wheel, could I just swap out the groupset for something newer like 105? Is the longer cable ok? Any things to think about that I've not?

    Yes, as long as you're not going anywhere with big hills. On a tandem, unlike a solo, both brakes are actually useful, because there's always substantial weight on the back wheel.
