Out riding in Essex today I got it into my head that the way to get my wife out at the same speed as me and my usual riding friends is, of course, a tandem. This popped up, think it's actually the right size too.
Are rim breaks like this alright? Seems most tandems have cantis or something. With a new back wheel, could I just swap out the groupset for something newer like 105? Is the longer cable ok? Any things to think about that I've not?
Just bloody buy it, you know you are going to! Modern rim brakes are (probably) as good as ancient cantis, either way it pays to anticipate your stopping on a tandem. Just lose the godawful Gatorskins.
Could be good though. I’d prefer some wild 90s paint and a more modern groupset but by the looks of things on eBay this is pretty up to date. I guess they get modern components when they’re bought by the likes of us and fiddled with.
People of Tandem, I'd like your help.
