At risk of joining the Tenderloin pile on - What's going on with the flashing on the bay window?
-
• #38828
Oh great. Do I have to change my fence now...
-

He doesn't care, he doesn't own it any more!
(It's the visible fixing nails in the wood that would drive me mad. None were allowed for our larch fencing.)
-
• #38830
Oh go on then... lets see...

You've all already seen it, everyone moaned about the state of the garden!
I'd do similar again but this time buy a nail gun and DIY, because the strips come planed all round you just need to cut them to length.

OHHHHHHHHHHH your rear fence, thought you meant front. My bin storage has sagged to shit over winter, I may as well re do the whole lot.

Any electrician recommendations? I'm in Hackney.

This was probably the thing I cared about but once the fence had silvered you could really notice them at all. I dunno what the cost difference would’ve been for screwing and hiding the heads under plugs but I imagine more than I would’ve cared for considering we never planned to stay that long

Cheers, that's more the price range I was looking for (and brick wall rather than wood, although I do quite like the fence, do you have a picture of it weathered?)

PM on BBC R4 leading with Grenfell and cladding including EWS1 stuff - might be interesting for those on here affected:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_fourfmEdit: At half five apparently.

You don't need to hide screw heads under plugs - we (well, our builders) used a nail gun and shot stainless nails in from behind/below so they weren't visible. Probably quicker and easier than screws tbh!
But yeah, can imagine the nails looked better when the wood had silvered. What wood was that?

What was your door choice? We have to replace ours soon
-
• #38840
If it makes you feel better they painted the fence and gate a sort of green colour the other day

I didn't mean to start a pile on, apologies. Genuinely thought the fence looked nice.

We have no idea what to do, been back on the market 3 weeks, had one viewing seemingly from someone who wasn't taking buying seriously and was just looking around.
No interest whatsoever, compared to the 20+viewings and 5 offers we had in 3 weeks in August.
Advice online suggests being prominent after Christmas is key and it will pickup quickly in the new year, wondering whether we should look at switching estate agents and launching a new listing in January, but seems a bit harsh given we don't have any problem with our current one. -
• #38844
oh ffs - I should've just taken everything with me!
-
• #38845
Honestly I dont mind :)

I would switch and get new pictures - when I see a house being listed several times with same pics and agent, I assume something is off with it.

I think in the current times it's less unusual to see things re-appear. I'd be tempted to take it off and launch it as a new ad but I'm not sure whether it's with the same agent or another with new pictures will make any difference (unless your current pictures are crap). Anyone who is looking properly will see it is the same place.
It used to be that boxing day was the busiest day for property websites. Not sure if that will be the case this year but worth bearing in mind

looks like a trend to me

Is it on at the same price? Would you be comfortable sharing a link? What's the outside space situation?
It seems odd that you had that interest before but so little now.
Covid and lockdowns have changed the game in terms of what people are interested in but if people were prepared to offer five times then your place can't be one of these places that seem to have become pretty much unsellable.

That was traditionally the case. In this current market - God knows tbh.
Don't worry about switching agents being harsh. They're not bringing in viewings. Maybe tell them you'll switch unless they get some buyers knocking on your door?

Does anyone know the bit of Walthamstow just south of Queens Road?
Specifically the bit west of the cemetery. A nice, wild card house has appeared. It's not an area we'd really considered but I always think dead people make good neighbours...
You got rid of your outer door? We have very similar arrangement atm. I don't love it but figure it would be draughtier and colder without.
