Video Games

Currently very much enjoying Gears Tactics on One X.

As a huge fan of the universe (at least first 3 games where I've put way too many hours in), it's nice to have Xcom (never managed to play though) style game with Gears aesthetics.

Actual gameplay, big skill trees, lots of characters and loot are fun, but find the graphics absolutely terrible considering it's a 2020 game running on One X.

Heads up for anyone who didn't preorder and will be trying to buy a ps5 tomorrow - John Lewis reserved a load of stock to sell in store and have since had to move them online!

One I pre-preordered through ShopTo, paid £1 or whatever it was back in like June to get on the list but it was no guarantee of being able to buy one at release. On the day preorders were announced at 9am the Amazon orders went live, I missed the midnight release from more stores because I didn't know it was going to happen but I managed to get one from Amazon. At that point ShopTo hadn't contacted me about the first preorder and I didn't know if they were going to honor that pre-preorder list or if I'd missed the boat with them. However a few days later they gave me the opportunity to get one so I did. I can't remember the exact date or time that I confirmed my preorder with ShopTo but I've read of people who did it minutes after me who didn't get one.

Even with both those preorders there was a chance either of the shops had oversold their allocation and would cancel, it's happened for many shops and Amazon did it for me for a different item a couple of months ago. So it's only now I've got dispatch notifications that I can be confident of them arriving. Even in the case both came through I thought it would be more valuable to sell one on at cost to a mate who didn't manage to get a preorder rather than just cancel it.

Damn - I've said from the start I'm not going to buy a PS5 until probably next year but the potential to pick on up tomorrow is stirring serious lust within me. Must resist.

Just do what I'm doing and be so utterly broke buying one isn't even an option.

Still eye balling new TV's, just have the living room to renovate until I can justify one!

Couldn’t decide, when preorders went live, if I wanted disc or digital edition.

Managed to snag both then decided I wanted the digital one.

Selling (at cost price) the disc edition.

@DethBeard - I only really play Warzone nowadays, so don't need one (how much better can the same game be on the next gen?), but you're right the hype has set in.

@HatBeard - I am about to be in that boat as buying a house (which is quite a stretch), but have had the last 7/8 months of having way more disposable cash than usual because of not going out at all!

I'm most keen on Demon Souls, but I could just fire up the PS3 and play it on there...
