I feel that OP is the way unless you really, really want the date and cyclops. The DJ is much showier, it kind of needs to have the jubilee and (to an extent) the fluted bezel to be a Datejust. If you’re going to Datejust, especially a modern one, you kind of need to own it. Vintage ones that aren’t so aggressively shiny are a lot easier to dress down but you don’t get the fit and finish of the modern ones.
This all over. Exactly my thoughts. OP over DJ unless you really really want the date and cyclops. But then it must have the Jubilee and fluted bezel whichll then be proper flashy and then You must really own it.
