Great! I think I remember having similar things in the past with PP. Using Resolve mostly these days and have a whole host of new 'quirks' to contend with.
Toying with a couple of minis for a portable live streaming set up but will wait to see what Parallels come out with in terms of running Windows cleanly as VMix (common tool for live stuff) is Win-only and it's got to be zero delay or not worth getting.

I think your only hope in the near-term is running VMix on Intel Minis in Bootcamp.
Windows via Parallels on ARM is likely to mean the half-baked Win10 ARM build running natively in a VM, with VMix running within that via the built-in Windows x86 emulation layer. I wouldn't trust that in anything approaching a production environment.
Having used and been abused by VMix for a while, I'd expect their developers to entertain the prospect of an ARM macOS rewrite in precisely never.

I'm still finding the iPhone 12 Pro a bit odd. Why is everything so "zoomed" / scaled up? I checked and I've it set to standard (and text to small) but it fits less than my old Pixel 4XL on the screen.
Then there's the hideous waste of space when using hte keyboard. It takes up half the screen, and at the bottom there's a bar with just two icons in it, wasting another chunk of screen.
That all said, it's damn fast compared to the pixel 4xl and everything pretty much works fine

Wouldn't bother with intel minis. I have some windows laptops I use for VMix already but just like the form of the mini. There are plenty of mini PC cases I could knock something up in (Which would actually be far more appropriate / flexible / cheap than a mini - but... y'know... mini)
And yes I hear you re. VMix devs.

Before there were Intel Macs, Parallels was a full x86 emulator for PowerPC Macs. I presume there'll be plenty of products of that kind in due course.

Performance was unusable for anything more than Office in those days, and I'll be very pleasantly surprised if it's much different when Parallels inevitably knock something up that emulates x86 VMs as you suggest.

I kind of want the MacBook Air M1 but with a 16” screen. Now reviews are piling in I realise that’s all I need in terms of power.

£5 million worth of Apple products (apparently 48 pallets) were stolen from a lorry, during a robbery on the M1. (M1 products on the M1?)

Off topic but on VMix/similar - any thoughts on how to get 11 remote speakers into a stream? VMix call does up to 8. Wirecast does 7. Callers are consecutive, not concurrent, last up to 2 mins each with a cut back to local camera for 1-2 mins where a host introduces the next remote caller.
I could juggle I guess - cue up 7 callers on WireCast and when the first 4 are done start to bring the next 4 in but it'd potentially be uncomfortable.
Could I get 2 x wirecast / VMix licenses with half calls on each and NDI one into the other? Bleurgh.

Everything which requires an email address, software update, or registering. Which pretty much leaves cables and cases. The first time something hits a data connection it's going to phone home.

£265 and I’ll make this problem go away quicker than you can say ‘Apple trade in’ ;)

Well, it's almost n different to the last iPhone I had which was an 8. I've come from a Pixel 4.

Second hand iPads, does the mini work with the latest stylus pen?

Ha, I had a similar conundrum recently; virtual studio with the need to have 10 callers within the virtual set simultaneously.
Didn’t trust VMix Call after experimenting with it, so I expensively rented 3x Quicklink boxes which turned out to be even more clunky.
In the end, I had to set up a table with ten individual Macs running Microsoft Teams piped through OBS and out via NDI into Unreal Engine.
It looked fucking ridiculous but worked flawlessly. Obviously needed an extra pair of hands to manage the callers.
In your case, I’d say get a couple of extra machines and use them as glorified NDI scan converters for your favourite flavour of videocall ingest.

If they are they'll be pulled apart for parts and sold cheaply on eBay or through the dodgy groups of the small phone fixing outlets. That's what happens to most stolen devices too.
Current iPhone SE (1st gen) really struggling now. Opening an app gives a 1/3 chance of it turning off due to the battery not being able keep up with demand.
Going to pull the trigger on a new iPhone 12 mini (direct from Apple) and then send the old iPhone SE off for a £49 replacement battery, then sell it (it's in great condition otherwise). Hoping that Apple will not bother replacing the battery and just send me a brand new 1st Gen iPhone SE which will be even easier to sell.
[EDIT] iPhone 12 mini ordered (delivery tomorrow), went for the Applecare option too, and booked a repair (by post) of the existing 1st Gen iPhone SE.
Luckily I've been able to backup my existing phone, losing that data would be annoying.

No, iPads with round edges (i.e. everything but the later Pros and the latest Air) don't have the charging connector for the Pencil 2.
@CYOA you helped me work out that it's specifically the dip to black transition where it happens. Cheers! Side note more related to the thread: I'm eyeing up the M1 Mac Mini.
