  • The hype that went down in June 18. :O

  • That’ll be January 2019 when the 50 year moon landing anniversary came around, Omega hiked list prices three times in six months and all Speedy prices went up.

  • Oh yeah. My x axis was all liek junes

  • I've seen them being sold new in sales for around that money in the UK. They seem to be not that popular, which is odd, as they are solid if a bit unremarkable. The 'denim' one is marmite.

  • Nice. I'll check it out. I've been enjoying the videos by the guy who also did the JLC I posted up thread. Got a sort of ASMR vibe going on.

  • I'm the same!

    ASMR restos FTW

  • Also Nekkid Watch dude is fun to watch

  • Yup. That was just the first one I came across. I do like them but prefer my Speedy. I would like a Tin Tin but too spendy. Their prices have done a similar thing to Tin Tins rocket 😁

  • Doubt it'll be quick. Sent my Harrods off, in brand new condition for a dial swap due to missed printing and got an email eventually, took 3.5 months. Not sure if it was longer due to the model because of the green on the dial. Haven't picked it up yet due to covid.

  • Geez, that’s long time! Do you know where it was sent to? I dropped mine off today and the AD said it’ll be back before Christmas for sure. I don’t know how he knows that but hopefully he’s right!

  • Had to go into Harrods due to it being their edition but don't know where they sent it, was definitely in the UK though as they told me that. Waited along time then Harrods messaged me to say that it was going to be a bit longer as Rolex need to order a part from Geneva. I was like, well it only needs one part and that's the dial!

  • Jees.

    Rolex gettin toight!

Wud have thought they would give u another.

  • Never had discount off of a watch in store but helped an old work colleague out with a real good deal with something from my work, then was eyeing up the newish Seamaster in white (never been a modern Seamaster fan, more 1960, but they got me with this one) and then recalled that he worked for Goldsmiths and they stocked it. Prefer the rubber strap as I've got thin wrist, like the bracelet too but the clasp looks so bulky and not refined to me. Anyway, he offered me 9% discount. I thought that was kinda low, or are they getting real tight on it now?? Maybe he just doesn't like me that much, ha. Didn't expect anything major but maybe it's because its quite a new version.

  • Sounds like it’s something to do with the dial then and COVID doesn’t help either. My AD said it takes up to 2 months for full service but they prioritise warranty repairs, so it should be about 3-4 weeks. I’m interested to see how long it’ll take. And also hoping the shop will be open as normal when the watch comes back so I can finally try some Rolex models and see if it’s for me.

  • Yeah true. Interested to see what you might be keen on Rolex wise. For me it's the Explorer, OP (not the latest release) or the now discontinued white 39mm.

  • Doooof.

Think I prefer this to a GMT or a standard Sub...

  • Nothing too flash but my dad just got one of these. https://www.marloewatchcompany.com/collections/coniston/products/coniston-bluebird?variant=32119227088985
He's always been into the history of both Donald & Malcom Campbell's record attempts and seems pretty happy with the build quality and the fact that is came from a company based in Scotland.

  • The white OP looks great in the pictures, I like that.
I’d like to try the OP and the Explorer. Both in 36mm. I also like the datejust but don’t like the polished centre links and I don’t suppose you can mix and match, can you? :-) I really, really hope I don’t like them...

  • don’t like the polished centre links and I don’t suppose you can mix and match, can you?

Nope. The case finishing is different as well though, the tops of the lugs are brushed on the OP and polished on the DJ, so a fully brushed oyster bracelet might look out of place even if you could fit it.

Some people go and get the centre links brushed though.

  • What a cracker and I don’t like modern rollies as a rule

  • We'll see how it goes. I might have to go vintage then as they did datejusts that came with brushed oyster bracelet, correct? 16200 for instance.

  • I enjoyed their diver, it look like a decent micro brand.

  • I feel that if you like the midsized brushed oyster thing then OP or a 36 mm Explorer is the way unless you really, really want the date and cyclops. The DJ is much showier, it kind of needs to have the jubilee and (to an extent) the fluted bezel to be a Datejust. If you’re going to Datejust, especially a modern one, you kind of need to own it. Vintage ones that aren’t so aggressively shiny are a lot easier to dress down but you don’t get the fit and finish of the modern ones.

  • If you come across the 41mm,can you buy it for me and I'll pay you back. Not the fluted one, makes it way to bling for my like.
