Mechanic noticed a corroded earth lead recently and cleaned that. No idea if there are more gremlins and not inspired to out any more into it to find out. Took delivery of the new car this evening.

Happy new car day.

That's a completely daft and illogical conclusion to come to, therefore correct, I would have another MG tomorrow if there were any possible justification. Enjoy having a car which the average family saloon would shit upon from an enormous height, I did.

When you put it like that maybe an E30 would be a good inbetween. I think my strategy will be watch ebay for engine swapped track hacks until the spring/summer. Thanks for being the voice of moderate reason, I probably need some of this.

what is that 2nd american peoplecarrier upthread by @user75204 ?

Some camping specific GM model van. That mod is not going to be factory but most likely aftermarket / custom.

Dodge ram van, mid 90's.
EDIT: The long wheel bases were 5m or so. There were some odd US military service vehicles that ended up here that were used round military bases that were even longer I think. They had odd side doors that opened uk passenger side even tho the van were LHD. They drive on the left on the US bases or at least they used to.

I saw a great E28 525 for sale recently, just got to remember where.

They're lovely, watching that video of Chris Harris' M5 years ago turned me onto them. Definitely won't be able to afford anything until the spring/summer but happily will check out any links.

Stupid question: Is the E28 worth modding or would you devalue it. Such as dropping the 335i straight six in. Makes more power the last few m5 out of the box.

904 wid a V12 no less.
Bit like the Audi A7 tho.
No so nice at the rear...

V2, I believe. Not room for an extra 10 cylinders in there. Still would.

• #59665
It's all a bit mixed up and ungainly. But you can see a lot of current 992 in there.
-
• #59666
Ha.
Motorbike engine ftw. Makes my 500 twin Air seem... elite.

ahh, if my memory has been jogged sufficiently, you had a really tidy, well sorted NA or NB MX5 previously; correct?
If the Boxter/MR2 don't get you going I can understand that. 944's have been dragged up with the prices of 911's going bonkers. I love MGB's/BGTs but I'd just worry that getting a nice, solid example might be hard given your budget and making a nice car out of a rough one will break your heart and your wallet. Sports and classic cars shouldnt always make sense though. If I was going for something like that I'd probably go for a Midget/Healey Sprite as I always like the size of them. Then again, a cursory glance on car and classic makes me think this > https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1283177 could be a load of fun...
Maybe I'm the person to take any advice from. -

Jeez man that's gorgeous. The wing tips, the slanted headlights and bonnet. Fit as fuck. And a rude blue interior too! Load of potential there.

Remember brm original mg being restored...

Is anyone knowledgable about Volvos?
Specifically 2010 onwards XC70 or XC90?
We need a better interim car and both these have come up semi locally. They both have around 130k miles on them
-
• #59671
Too new for me to know much about them I’m afraid.
-
• #59672
Yep that's me, although the car probably looked better in photos. Personally I enjoy the tinkering and learning just as much as driving and after years of wanting and saving I now have a garage so keen to get a long-term project. Maybe I've watched too much car pervert and hubnut but have a hunch buying an already fast modern-ish car wouldn't be enough. I'll keep my eyes peeled the next few months and do some soul searching.

Thanks again for this. 9 days left on the auction and it's already up to more than the online scrappers were offering. 7 bids from 5 bidders and 47 watchers.
-
• #59674
That’s awesome. How high can it go?
-
• #59675
It doesn't need to go very high, the scrappers didn't offer enough to even cover what I've spent on it in the last two weeks.
Thanks for the reply. Am following on ebay.
Stupid question have you checked the rear light earth? Cos that one throws up some interesting faults.
