  • Sorry if a bit tinfoil but is it odd that the CEO of Pfizer thinks now is the time to cash out?

"Pfizer's CEO cashed out 60% of his stock on the same day the company unveiled the results of its COVID-19 vaccine trial"

    https://twitter.com/businessinsider/status/1326454622140174336

  • Bourla sold $5.6 million in stock on Monday as part of a predetermined trading plan adopted on August 19.

    Here's a complete history

    https://wallmine.com/people/40271/albert-bourla#complete-history

  • Yes the trade is predetermined, but presumably the CEO has some intel on the trials, and input into the 90% efficacy announcement/date? Totally speculating here, but hey that's what internet forums are for no?

  • If it was 100%, then yes. I agree it could be read as a red flag, but he's really just doing what any investor would do, maximising return on investment (I think).

(I am not a financial adviser, could very well be naive / wrong)

  • Not great optics, might affect share prices. If he’s insider trading, it’s a hell of a high profile day to do it.

  • Selling when the stock goes high doesn't seem fishy to me.
Now, If he had bought a load the day before the announcement, then that's another story…

  • is it not fishy that he planned the sale in advance then they had the announcement on the day of the sale? if the announcement had been made the following day he would have made loads less. i presume he would have had some input into the timing of the announcement.

not that i know anything about this story - only what I have read above. too lazy to even read the links :)

  • Lol.

As long as he waited a reasonable time after the announcement to sell, he can argue that his public trades were done with the same info. available to everyone else. A reasonable time in the digital trading world is, I’m guessing, seconds, but I reckon he would’ve given the stocks time to rise as the news spread.

  • Bastard rona finally got me, ONS test from Monday came back positive, I got a call from them today so pretty quick turn around if anyone was wondering how it works if you test positive. No symptoms yet but it could be early days. I ran at lunch and felt great so hopefully I am one of the lucky ones.

  • I’ve only been to work (“covid secure”) and food shopping so hardly done anything risky, just goes to show how easy it is to catch. I didn’t even have to go to bangface to catch it.

  • Hope it doesn’t affect you too badly

  • I’ve only been to work (“covid secure”) and food shopping so hardly done anything risky, just goes to show how easy it is to catch.

This is important to remember and easy to forget. Until your post I'd have been pretty surprised if I'd caught it, based on similar activities

  • Cheers! It’s definitely much more prevalent in Manchester now, friends and friends of friends seem to be getting it regularly none of whom have been in contact.

  • Oh wow, anybody else got it at your work place?

    Hope you recover ok!

  • No one I know has tested positive or has symptoms.

Bickering in NI, the DUP promised all restrictions would end next week (they said that a month ago, but how can you promise that?) but while infection rates have dropped...the other parties disagree.

And hospitalisation rates have dropped BUT schools have re-opened too and hospitalization lags behind case increase usually, so perhaps really it is not wise to re-open next week.

But THE ECONOMY and POVERTY coming from the DUP that voted for austerity and a blocked May's Brexit so on point messaging, but massive hypocrisy if you ask me.

At the same time, a lot of business still don't get enough help and home visits are still very restricted.

Perhaps it is better to have a limited re-opening / wait a week and that means we can meet people for coffee/eating in a restaurant and pubs/cafes can make some money?
Or maybe it is really dumb and better to wait close to Christmas cos this risks more restrictions then?

I don't know, wouldn't fancy making that call.

  • Unlucky, hope it won't get you bad.

  • Interesting, my wife had her test Monday morning, and we are currently waiting on results, 95% sure she hasn't got it, as all the marginal symptoms have gone.

    Hopefully hers comes through today.

Good to know. 9 days since our last ONS tests. Nothing on my medical record and no letters received yet.

Hope the symptoms are mild or not even noticeable...

Who was the call from? T&T or ONS/IQVIA?

  • It was someone associated with ONS, not had t&t yet but he said I would get a call from them at some point.

  • Daughter sent home today for 14 days along with 250 other kids from her year bubble as someone tested positive, I am now having to learn Macbeth, like 2020 couldn't get any worse

  • like 2020 couldn't get any worse

Wait until Birnam Wood is at your doorstep...

  • Occupational hazard if living in Dunsinane.......

  • Cold and flu have ripped through HK and nursery schools closures are happening as a result: https://www.dimsumdaily.hk/dr-sophia-chan-announces-suspension-of-face-to-face-classes-for-kindergarten-and-daycare-centres-for-14-days-from-this-saturday/

Here we have very good compliance with mask wearing although the concept social distancing is still a mystery to most people.

  • Fingers crossed for you.

What led you to get a test? It sounds like you aren’t sure how or when you caught it.
