    Yes, as the son of an electrician it is a trigger.

  • Why, even as the son of an electrician, would you insist on people spelling flourescent incorrectly? The etymology of the word flourescent is from 'flourospar' and 'opalescent'. Neither results in 'flouresecent' being the correct spelling. Which probably explains why it doesn't occur in that form in the OED. Or the Cambridge Dictionary, which is obviously far, far superior.
