  • Still on the fence about skinny tubes with big radius bend in the seattube for a 27.2 seatpost vs burlier tubes with a sharper bend but for a 31.6 seatpost. Availability of 27.2 droppers isn’t as good as 31.6 but the PNW Rainier looks more than suitable and one good option is all I need.

    The skinny tubes could all come from Ceeway where the 31.6 tube selection would have to come from the US, but the price difference is virtually negated by the price difference between a PNW and a Brand X post. So that isn’t much of a tie breaker.

  • Know anyone with a lathe? You could get the bent Reynolds downtube that has a 35 or whatever mm ID and machine a sleeve “topper” for the seat tube cluster that has the same OD as the Reynolds tube but a 31.6 ID.
    It just needs a short step at the end so it can slot inside the seat tube, then braze it in and done.
