That's how mine is set up, works well. I ran the exposed section of brake inner inside a teflon tube and heat shrink wrapped the rear light wire to that so it's covered for the full length.

Spiral wrap looks like a good method too. Perhaps less faff when you change cable-outers.

So I’ve see this solution mentioned, but never executed. Here are some rear dynamo wires heat shrinked to the rear brake housing.
