Stock bolts are fine
Park Tool torque wrench Allen keys + shimano pinch bolts = PITA.

203/12”. The problem (for me) with a bike fork is bolting the round leg to a flat surface.

Show us your drawings. Why support both sides of the hub when most light duty trailers make do with much simpler cantilever hub axles?

I got the front wheels from a friend so I'm working with standard axles.
Is there a cheap 3/8" one out there that could stand being supported on one side? Most of the trailers I've seen use at least 12mm axles if they are stubs.
Sorry don't have drawings but picture a shallow box with a 12" wheel attached on each side and an arm and hitch sticking out the front.

I'm thinking that the axle size is holding me back.
I might look into wheelbarrow/handtruck/wheelchair/walker wheels that can accept standard rod sizes, probably cheaper and maybe lighter. -

Why has general usage seemingly changed from "left-wing" to "leftist"? Simply because the similarity to other "-ist" type words makes it more seem more pejorative?
For e.g. racist.
I admit, I've preferred the use of Brexist over Brexiter to describe people for that reason, glass houses, stones etc.

Americans. 'Socialist' being a pejorative term.

So, I'm pretty sure the substantive change in usage is just fashion.
You might make an argument that leftist, left-wing and left-leaning describe different positions.
Also, an -ism is a badge to wear with pride, or to be labelled with as an attack.

Is the R8000 rear derailleur worth the extra over an R7000/6800/5800 on a normal road bike? For practical reasons, not buyer logic
The (unofficial) capacity is significantly larger isn't it? To the point you can get away with 11-40. Otherwise they're the functionally the same?

No, the geometry is the same. Anything an R8000 can do an R7000 can do cheaper.
they're the functionally the same?
For 8000 vs. 7000, yes. 6800 and 5800 are old school, the same as each other but different from modern RDs.

With very few exemptions, the only difference between Shimano 11 speed components of the same generation is weight.

• #105314
the only difference is
weightgramsFTFY
Thanks, I'll save my pennies and get the cheap one (also thanks to Tester)

Talk to me regarding cranks for my Touché build. Can't stretch to SG75 DD. I guess I could stretch to Omnium's at a push. Anything else I should look at?
Are Omnium's any good? -

Are Omnium's any good?
Yes, but they’re no longer in production, just FYI.

Are Omnium's any good?
They're sound but stout. Plenty of people have had clearance issues between spider and chainstay on aluminium track frames.

I've got an R7000 rear mech on my gravel bike, with a 11-40 cassette. Works fine without longer b-screw or hanger extender.

I’ve always thought that these HS77 calipers look like a psychotic tarantula about to lob a beer keg at you.
-
• #105321
With a front double? If so, what chainring count?
(I have 50/34 - 36/11 but was considering larger cassette)
-
• #105322
Just single ring up front actually - 40t

Ah - thanks.

Is there anything i could buy from screwfix or toolstation that i could use to space out a rear rack? or is spacing out a rack a bad idea...
-
• #105325
Really depends by how much?? 10mm or 100mm???
You could of course use a couple!! of nuts between the rack and the frame.
As of the last election, they’re still in Canada, though metalworkers will still cleave to the imperial system no matter which province they reside in.
Cheers for the info.
