  • Don’t underestimate sandbags as a tool.

    Cheap, easy enough to change weight between sessions (make smaller ‘packages’ to fit inside a larger bag to easily increase/decrease weight) and can really load up on them (120kg+ with some).

    Front squats, back squats, overhead and supine pressing, cleans, carries... there’s a lot you can do with them. No tidiness the way you get with a barbell but effective.
