  • Ah nice one Oliver, yes that's the one. After staying with the Seligman family Selassie then went on to stay in Bath, Somerset. Recently a blue plaque was placed to commemorate his time there. See pic attached.
    This guardian article talks further about the unrest in Ethiopia for those with an interest. The Ethiopian embassy have said they are working to replace the statue, I read another article that said that the rasta aren't bothered about taking a pilgrimage to a leafty south west London suburb to pay homage to Selassie as 'they aren't really into all that' but I reckon that's rubbish as I know a lot of people that have visited the site in Wimbledon and Fairfield House in Bath often has events happening and an active community. Glad someone got down there, it's a lovely park!

  • Indeed, well sorry the blue plaque above was/is at Abbey Hotel in the Malverns. They are currently fixing up the gardens at Fairfield house.
