  • The XX on Netflix is a pretty good portmanteau movie. Going to watch the similars now

  • Has anyone mentioned It Follows yet?

  • ^really like that film, good for repeat viewings too

Halloween treat here for lovers of the tube and ghost stories.

  • ^ cheers watching now

  • Mandy -it’s great. Nic Cage delivering on turbo form

  • Thread resurrection for vampires vs the bronx. Everything I could have hoped for.

  • Everything I could have hoped for.

In a good way or you had low expectations?

  • Wishmaster.
    It's shit, hilarious shit.
Reckon it would be mint if it was made in 1987 (instead of 1997) and had Tom Savini involved.

Might have to find the sequel and carry on this hoot.

(IMDB yells me there are 4 films in the franchise!)

  • the Wishmaster series is fantastic - directed by make-up and effects maestro Rober Kurtzman and featuring the multi talented, multi lingual Andrew Divoff!

you're in for a cheesy treat.

  • ‘Tis the season

His House on Netflix. Interesting ghost story about asylum seekers. Kinds of ok, not amazing.

  • I actually watched the first Wishmaster for the first time last night. Couldn't stop laughing, so stupid and over the top in the best possible way. Is the 2nd one really over 3 hours long?

  • Recent favourites:

    Hush
    Kadaver
    Vivarium

  • I saw Vivarium a while ago. It was alright, felt like an extended episode of Black Mirror. Didn't think it was anything too special though!

  • Kadaver is that on Netflix?

  • pretty sure it clocks in at a just about perfect 1 hour 30.

All movies should be this long.

We Hate Movies did a podcast on WM2 which might be worth a listen before / after you watch depending on how you feel about spoilers (people die in increasingly gruesome / chucklesome manners)...

  • I'm a big We Hate Movies Fan, I'm a few episodes behind so will try and watch it beforehand!
I did think the 3 hour run time Google was suggesting seemed unlikely. 96 minutes is definitely the perfect duration for that sort of thing.

  • Yep! Kadaver/Cadaver. Watch in Norwegian with subtitles obviously.

  • Oh it's not the best thing ever but I watch a lot of films, so in the last month it was a good one haha.

  • If anyone doesn't have Shudder yet you can get a month free if you use the code horrorhound.

  • Watching Host now. Really quite good

  • pretty sure it clocks in at a just about perfect 1 hour 30.

All movies should be this long.

This. My review of every modern film is always "could do with 20 mins being chopped out"

  • Tis’ the season. Anything good about?

I recently saw ‘no one gets out alive’ on Netflix. Thought it was really good.

  • OG Poltergeist on BBC4 at the moment.

Hard to believe it's by the same guy that did TCSM

  • Wasn't there a lot of Spielberg in it? Or was that Gremlins?
