  • I've been thinking about those stranded people who ended up in hospital.
So far the focus has been on the incompetence of the campaign, but I am also wondering about how wretched the attendees must have been. How badly can a crowd of like minded folks from the same town fail in looking after another. It was only 5 miles to safety, couldn't they rustle up some taxis, get friends and family to come out to pick them up. Offer up any free seats to strangers who were poorly dressed etc. Considering it was only 5 miles it isn't too much to expect that some people would be happy to take several trips to collect stragglers. After all they are your fellow Trump supporters and the election is imminent.
Makes me think many of these guys are in a much worse state than you can perceive from the TV coverage. And that America as a society is very badly broken indeed.

  • Apparently they parked up 5ish miles away and were bussed in by a company but when the company who were led to believe they would receive payment when they arrived were given no payment, they decided to just leave.

Apparently this has happened before with the trump campaign leaving unpaid bills all over the place including for police in the town's where they have held rallies

  • when they arrived were given no payment, they decided to just leave.

And that again sounds something that should only happen in the badlands of a failed state. In what other first world country would a transport company have to worry that they would not get settlement if they just sent an invoice after the job? So worried that they would only commit to doing the return journey if they got cash upfront?
