There was a race posted about the other day. It was a route in the alps, some road, some rough track. Can’t remember any other details, long shot I know.

Definitely looks like burning is out. Going to have to be getting up early to sweettalk the dustmen or a trip to the tip it looks like.

It will compost if you put it between layers of organic material. Also, if you're worried about annoying the dustmen, tear it up so it packs down small and just fill the green bin each week until its gone?

That's what I have been doing but chopping up loads of boxes gets boring very quickly.

I want a nice frame but don't want to dent it when locking it against a bike stand. Is Airplane a safer bet than MAX? Or are they both too delicate?
Columbus top tubes:
MAX (steel): 0.7 - 0.4 - 0.7 mm
Airplane (Alu): 1.2 - 0.7 - 1.1 mm -

What's the name of the break pads I need for steel rims and wiemann type 730 calipers? Anywhere in London stock them and also where can I get rubber hoods for said breaks where the wire comes out the top of the lever?

on tenterhooks now!

I've discovered, somewhat to my surprise, that the local tip is 7 minutes away. I think that could be the answer.

I doubt very much that the recycling collection will refuse anything. I'd just put it all out front and see what happens. Councils want to recycle more and I'm sure that trickles down to the operatives.
Edit: What @giles337 said.

Stuff definitely gets left if it isn't in the bin. When I moved in I left some boxes next to my bin with a note and the bin went but they didn't. I suspect they'd probably take stuff if I can catch them but I'm often not about.

steel rims
If you ever want to stop in the wet you will want new alloy rims, but among the least worst options for steel are Kool-Stop salmon compound pads; the Kool-Stop Continentals should fit the Weinmanns. For lever hoods Cane Creek make compatible ones: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brake-levers/weinmann-mafac-style-cane-creek-road-brake-lever-hoods-tan/
Not sure where in London's famous London might have them in stock though.

Kool stop salmon. Probably this style https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brake-blocks/kool-stop-continental-brake-blocks-salmon/
Don't know about a London stockist though, I've always had to order online.

OK, our recycling collectors seem happy to gobble everything up as long as it's in green sacks. Do you have that régime up there? It's a lot of work to put it in the sacks, so perhaps going to the
tiprecycling centre is the best bet. -

Ask in the Bin Thread for tips.

That was the one, found it trawling through the forums.

is there a cunning way to watch previous episodes of BBC London news? you can do so for the regular news on the bbbc website, tho struggling to find the regional stuff.
edit: got it.
Yes, especially if you live in a built up area. Wood and paper smoke cause asthma, heart disease and lung disease, especially in children. Covid deaths are also higher in areas with poor air quality.
