Shadow seems like a possible addition but how would it be with a Shakedry over the top??

You're going to boil. Unless it's relentlessly pissing down for hours on end a baselayer plus a softshell (my go-to attire for wet Danish winters) is all you need.

Fear not. I still use my ancient Softshell that became the Classic Softshell, I'm not sure what's the equivalent nowadays. Been significantly below freezing temp with it, as well just above freezing but with sleet and heavy winds and I have been fine.
