The economic damage, sure, they will try. But once your supermarket stops selling items / the markup is huge / your small local shop cannot get you EU cheese anymore as there is not "trusted trader" scheme for small businesses (yet, another thing the Tories won't care about I'd say) it can no longer be denied.
By then "project fear" has become "project OH FUCK" of course. Sad state of affairs though, all we can hope for is a slow return to EU alignment, but with 4 years of Tories not sure that is possible.
