  • Unless it’s your own prob best not un-kudos-ing anyway.
Although if it’s a good story do share

  • It's your ex isnt it? Thanks for that info tho. Genuinely important.

  • Of course :(

  • Haaaa you gotta own it!

It was a great effort, a solid activity, have some KUDOS!

  • The lesson here is to not follow any ex’s on Strava.

  • The lesson here is to not Strava.

    ftfy

  • It could have been worse. I could have given his new girlfriend kudos on a crappy little commute or something.

  • I like his new gf, she has spunk.

  • Anyone used those bookmark applets to extract routes from Strava without being a Premium member? Or is there a site I could just send an activity to in order to pull down the GPX?

  • https://mapstogpx.com/strava/ I've often used this javascript bookmark applet with succes.

  • can you not still download GPX files of routes, without having premium? or 'create a route' from someone else's route, and then download the GPX from 'my routes'?

  • There definitely used to be a workaround like this, but I couldn't see the GPX link and couldn't be bothered tracking it down. Might try that another time.

  • Looks like you're already sorted now, but just in case, I use this Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/strava-gpx-downloader/pnglhfabfkchkadgnkfacoakincdpeeg

  • If you are putting Peloton sessions on Strava you are getting an instant unfollow.
It even adds a picture of the instructor as the image on the ride.

  • Sounds amazing.

    signs up to Peloton

  • Just to confirm, it's a little fiddly but this still works.

  • I've done the 300k but on Michelin, WTB and Schwalbe.

  • Has anyone seen this in their strava?

Something is posting spam into my activity stream, purportedly as me, but with a slightly different name.. I can't delete it. I'll talk to strava, but someone here might have seen it before

  • From the looks of it, it's an entirely separate account (*) that has been created with a similar name, the idea is that your friends will think it might be you and click on the link (which will be chock full of malware).

For them to be in your stream would mean (I think) you might be following them, you might want to review your friend list.

    * It could be one of your friends that has had their account infiltrated which is why you, and other people you know, are seeing it in your stream. Odd tactic though, never seen that before. If it is a friend's account you might be able to work out who it is from old rides (unless they've been

I doubt that changing your password and reviewing your linked apps will help (although it's always worth doing this) as it doesn't look like your account that's doing this. Might be worth trying to take it up with Strava as it's likely the account can be squished on the grounds that it is linking to malware.

  • Thank you. Ah, yes your third para makes sense, because some of my followers see it and others don't. It is interesting that I see it in the stream of "My Activities" though

I did indeed change my password and linked apps (and then of course swore because my rides stopped uploading)

I'll take it up with Strava.

  • What do people do for CRs/KOMs that are a result of someone getting in a vehicle at the end and forgetting to stop their watch, or other random GPS glitches?

Is it just a "flag it and don't worry" or "try and contact them to give them a chance to deal with it"?

The CR for this segment is an example: https://www.strava.com/segments/24443394

38s for 0.44km. Nice if you can run that fast at the end of a ~20km training run.

The vast bulk of the persons run was really a run: https://www.strava.com/activities/1077443704/overview but it looks like their Garmin 310XT had a couple of brain farts, one during the 14th km where it loses lock for a considerable period (but that doesn't really affect anything as it doesn't mess up any segments) but at the end of the run it looks like they stop at the Telegraph Pub and then get into a car and drive away putting in a few ~1m30 kilometers.

Seems a shame to flag the entire thing, but with an old activity (July 2017) is there much point trying to do the polite thing and trying to get them to crop it?
