Yep, Stans Notubes Arch MK3. 26mm internal diameter.
Had to really trawl the obscure retailers to find a pair, had many orders cancelled as they’ve been discontinued with no suitable replacement on the horizon.

Thanks!
Can’t praise Limit Fab enough.

yah i have been on the hunt for some mk3 crest ... where did you find yours?
-

You’re in luck!
Superstar Components have a secret stash of Stans MK3 26” rims; I bought the last Arch they had but they have a few Crests.
You need to get in touch with them via FB/email to buy them though, they’re not on their website.
I managed to get the second rim from r2bike, who cancelled my order for two pieces even though they showed as in-stock online.
From speaking to a few UK retailers, the MK4 range won’t be out till the new year, so get these while you can.

out of curiosity, how much were they?

Just picked up the holy grail of RC31s:
Lighter late-spec, black crown & dropouts, correct 420mm A-to-C and long steerer to suit the large head tube of the Marin.

£85 posted from Superstar, cheaper from r2bike.

cheers, thanks for the tip!
what made you decide on these. I was toying with the idea of gigantex carbon ... but it seemed like something I'd break.

They seem to be the go-to lightweight 26” MTB fork; not too many horror stories and ~650g.
If it ends up being too wibbly I’ll get a custom set of titanium forks from Taiwan, with mid-fork mounts & all that jazz.

Subbed. Great project.

This just gets better and better, can't wait to see it finished. Are you going to get rid of the fork decals?
-
• #63
I meant the rim :)
-
• #64
Yeh, all decals getting stripped off the fork, they’re way too corny.
@r_mash Ah, chose the Arch cos of width (sweet spot for the RTP tyres, not a fan of silly-wide trials rims), weight (barely heavier than a set of crabon rimz of identical width from Light Bicycle at a third of the cost) and tubeless compatibility.

Ti tab detail.
Need to swing the banjo round to route the hose up the seatstay and through the brake boss cable guide.

RC31 cleaned up nicely.
Shame to delete the decals but they’re just way2cheezy.

This fork looks ace, never seen it before!

That's a beautiful fork ! The whole build will look a lot cleaner without the decals. Really like how it's going on

Nice! Good to know this can be done 👍🏻

Gone full weenie level & got a set of carbon moto bars.

I must confess I was very sceptical about your plans to have disc tabs welded on. I don't really get the 'puppy killing' thing unless it's a frame with genuine historical significance but it seemed like a bad idea. But that looks excellent. So I'm off for a big bowl of humble pie with extra custard.

Good god man, get a hammer out and tap some of those nail heads down, your socks must be in tatters.
Nice frame/mods too. -

Just picked up the second elusive rim. Only wheelbuilding left until it’s all ready to be cobbled together.
...excuse the dodgy improv ‘strap’ situation, the cable was poked through holes torn through the underside of the box so it wasn’t going anywhere...

Subbed . I started riding and racing on a Marin Eldridge grade . Fitted me so well . Still got two of them . One very ratty but another I re-sprayed and fitted some shiny stuff to . Will sort some pics ..
Really nice solution re brake tabs.
