  • yeah.. german (or dutch) trekking bikes are shit

  • Any updates on this?

  • Just picked up these for cheap becuase they were missing a £2.99 strut:

    Thorn Low rider rack

  • Very exciting indeed. What color did you go for in the end? 5008? And decals?

I’m pretty sure you can use those low rider even without the strut. I have some similar that are single sided and have held up just fine with loads. But obviously the strut will make them even more stabile.

  • 5008?

    Correcto

    decals?

None, more after the stealth look

I’m pretty sure you can use those low rider even without the strut

They're made from "10mm seamless, cold drawn, heat treated, aerospace Cr-Mo steel." so i'm sure they'll be stiff enough, but for the sake of £2.99 i bought them anyway.

  • Lowrider racks feel like one of those things where they'll probably be fine just attached one side but on the rare instance they fail, the rack ends up through your front wheel and potential fiery death ensues.

  • pretty similar build for inspo

  • Been drooling over that myself for a while.
Too bad the AC is 430mm on the vagabond, as it makes it much harder to find a suitable carbon fork for it.

  • Those are 27.5 aren’t they?

  • Spoke to Steve at Aurum today, frame should be done by next week. They ran out of silver, so couldnt do the brasing.
Good news is that they managed to get the stuck bolt out, so no need for new brase ones there.
Bad news he didnt collect the mudguards so he'll get them when he drops off the frame.

In other news been tempted by the new RideFarr forks for my 29er

The BMX style dropouts looks great, will give a look like this with my new richey bars

  • New project

Will need to build a removable bar across the back so I can mount bikes via the front axle.

    Using this mount:

  • Oh that was you earlier? Fucking prick, get off the road and pay some road tax

  • My frame is back from the painters apparently

  • That sounds exciting!

  • I'm currently awaiting photos, but in the mean time I have asked them to order me some Vittoria Terreno in 29x2.1"

  • That's looking great, the colour has come out well. I take it you're happy?

  • I am indeed, Steve did a nice job with the eylets
