  • ~£15-20 per-end more is left in my wallet

  • Yeah, it was 3 years ago, I was asking about Uberbike pads, bought the wrong ones:

That probably put the shits up me. But I don't remember anyone ever suggesting any non-finned shimano options. You bunch of useless bastards!

  • The Superstar pads have fins, but they're separate to the pad, so you can just replace the pads without the spenny fins. I haven't used them much, but they seemed to work and I'm not dead yet.

  • Yeah, I'm not bothered about the fins. I'm gonna get a set without and try them. If they work they work. If not, then maybe I'll try a cheaper 2-part pad and if I don't like them I'll go back to L04S.

  • And there dies the 'Hippy is fat' meme...

  • Yeah, whatever the fuck they are. I should know, I've ordered 30 sets of them over the last 4 years.

  • I don't get it. (You should also see what I've put away today! Far out)

  • Greater weight = more height to dissipate = need for fins to dissipate heat.

If you don't need the fins, you aint' heavy. Brother.

  • Yeah, but it also depends how you brake. If you're a noob or a bit chicken you tend to drag the brakes on descents. I've ordered a set of the Ti ones, so let's see what happens. If I die, you get all my old L04C pads.

  • Yeah, but it also depends how you brake. If you're a noob or a bit chicken you tend to drag the brakes on descents.

This is true, but You Can't Beat Physics. Moah weight = moah heat. Unless your God-like descending skills mean that brakes are an optional extra.

  • Given the number of times I've run off the road, you might think I've forgotten I have brakes.

  • You and me both...

  • How many times do I have to set up my v-brakes before I find it easy and become one of those people who don't see the point in hydro discs.

  • A question for the Swedes: I've returned an order to a Swedish webshop via DHL and now it's been waiting for collection at a parcel shop for three days according to the tracking. No delivery attempt has been made, did I do something wrong? How long will they keep the parcel for pick-up? Should I expect the webshop to go and pick it up? I've e-mailed them but haven't gotten a response so far and I'm starting to become a bit worried I'll have to pay the 10 euros return fee and be €26 out of pocket whilst still not having returned a €50 order.

  • It is easy, but they're not as good as discs.

  • OSM maps : Does anyone have a step by step guide to joining OSM and editing a road?

I have a few "roads" that are unsealed and want to change on OSM to show this. I don't want to spend days learning all the bullshit just want easy to follow steps for someone who already spends too long at a PC screen.

Figure this out? It's pretty simple and quick to just change the status of a road.

Go to Openstreetmap.org. Find the particular section of road you're dealing with. Click edit (I usually use the in-browser iD editor) click on the road and change feature type (add more details if you like), press save and add a comment about why you're editing.

  • Any recommendations for cheap (it's not my garage so cheaper the better), garage shelving? Not going to be anything particularly heavy on it but need to get stuff off the floor.

  • Yeah, cheers. I found an OSM thread and got some hassle info there:

I don't know how long it takes to publish changes if they're reviewed and I don't know how long it takes RWGPS to pull the changes so I've not seen anything change yet.

  • I use those build-it-yourself shelves. Probably from Screw-fix or Argos or something. They've held up a bunch of shit for the last 10 years so can't complain.

Imagine a much cheaper version of this thing...

I can't find my purchase email but presumably more like:

It is easy, but they're not as good as discs.

A tip I would give is to release the spring of the side you want to adjust, so the pad is pushed against the MSW. Makes adjusting very easy.

My friend liked my V-brakes better than his Spyres. #csb

I bought this stuff to put in new house while I'm procrastinating/decorating.
They were doing 2 for £50. It's easy to put up and sturdy.

  • Second these - have 3 of them in the cellar, very sturdy and easy to put together.

  • I misread your post as:

Second House - have 3 of them in the cellar

Was about to send you to the Golf Club thread
